We have a drummer. Just throwing that out there! Only took us around 4 months to find one, but, better than never finding one at all. His name is Alex Koenig, he is a ginger (even his drums are red), and his 1st show with us will be the Make Do and Mend/Hostage Calm/Heartsounds show on the 21st @ Broadway Joe’s. Come support!
So, this show is going to be absolutely incredible. We’re lucky enough to be opening for some our favorite bands AND we’re playing with our boys in Pentimento yet again. It’s our 1st “big” show as a band and it would mean the world to us to have you all come out and support us. Tickets are only $10 to see some of the most talented bands (in our opinion) out there right now. We should most definitely have our 7” and hopefully the long-sleeve, some stickers, and maybe some buttons at this show!
While you’re at it, learn drums and play this show with us. We could still use a drummer… Having one would kind of be cool. We vaguely remember what it’s like to have our own drummer.
We still need a drummer…. Be our drummer? I (Danielle) will force Lauren to cook delicious food for you at all times if you’re our drummer. We have a van. We’re planning some touring. We’re nice people. Only Will smells. Do drummers even exist anymore?
So, last time we posted something it was with hopes of heading out in June for a few days. We have decided to hold off on our weekend plans as it is an incredibly popular month for smaller, DIY bands to tour in and we have run into a lot of overlap with other bands. With that being said, we have opted to hold off till the month of July and head out for a longer period of time.
We do have two incredibly excellent shows planned for the month of May that you should really consider going to. The first is the 10 For Mike Bird Event at Extreme Wheels in Buffalo, NY on May 22nd. Check out the facebook event for all the details/happenings surrounding that! (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=109081462509612)
That same week we’ll be playing Rochester once again (twice in one month!) with Aficionado, I Am Alaska, The Navigator, and Harris. It’s going to be at Elixir with a start time of around 8PM. $7 at the door. Here’s that facebook event for more details (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=145805588822478).
And, finally, to continue to beat the dead horse that is our drummer search… We still need one. I swear there has to be one solid drummer in the area of Rochester/Buffalo, NY that isn’t already involved in a project. Get in touch if you or someone you know may be interested in trying out! We’re in the process of setting up studio time to record our split and are currently writing our full-length. It would be nice to have our own drummer involved in that process!
So, check out our shows this month, be on the lookout for some new recordings, and help us find a drummer! Thanks for your support.
We want to tour in June… Just like every other band out there.
So, because May is already too close to tour in and we have a few shows already, the band has turned it’s focus to the magical and glorious month of June. Just like every other band in the country that tours, we’re trying to hook up a little tour.
As of right now, this is what we’re looking to do:
June 17th - Albany, NY
June 18th - CT/MA
June 19th - Brooklyn/Long Island/NYC area
June 20th -Philadelphia/Surrounding areas, PA
I have sent out a butt-load of emails to promoters and bands in the areas mentioned above but because summer is touring season we could use a little help!
If you know any bands or promoters in these areas that may be able to help us out, please send them our way! As a relatively new and unknown band it’s tough for us to get shows outside of our hometown areas.
Check out our facebook page for the info on the shows we currently have booked. There’s a few and they’re all going to be pretty incredible (www.facebook.com/lapseny)
